The most recent “Magic of Personal Development” event took place at Carol I High School in Craiova. We were welcomed into a spacious amphitheater, with children arriving full of enthusiasm and teachers eager to support us. They helped throughout the process of settling in, especially as the excitement was palpable.
We were joined by Florentina Costina and Lavinia Nasta, representatives of the Autonom Foundation, along with their colleague Ionuț Giurescu. Lavinia kicked off the event with a brief presentation of the foundation and its contribution to such significant events in the community.
The “Dream Creator,” none other than entrepreneur Răzvan Jianu, energized the room, encouraging the students to answer questions, overcome their fear of speaking in public, and stay motivated to pursue their dreams. The students responded positively to the questions about mentors and shared their experiences with us. They engaged in all the exercises and eagerly raised their hands throughout to share their ideas.
One of the beautiful concepts from the “Magic of Personal Development” event is related to reading—how books can help us in personal development, not just in the process of learning or acquiring information.
Reading has the power to:
– Increase our empathy, offering us a perspective different from our own;
– Develop critical thinking by exposing us to diverse ideas or arguments;
– Help us communicate more easily, whether in writing or speaking;
– Provide new solutions or ideas that we might not have considered before;
– Motivate and inspire us to achieve our dreams or make the right choices.
Reading is not just a pleasant activity but also a powerful tool for personal growth. Through the pages of books, we discover new worlds, enrich our minds, and develop in surprising ways, transforming into wiser and better-prepared individuals for life.
After these engaging exercises, magician Mario Popescu delighted the students with his magic tricks. Mario always prepares new tricks to surprise his audience. The students were eager to participate in every act alongside our magician. They laughed, had fun, and simply enjoyed the magical moments. Mario encouraged them to follow their dreams and believe in themselves. He reminded them not to fear putting in the necessary effort to reach their goals, despite obstacles or a lack of support around them.
Both teachers and students welcomed us with open arms. We talked, encouraged them to read, to focus on personal development, and entertained them with a delightful dose of magic.
We love organizing such events that can help the next generation. In addition to development opportunities, we also provide those moments of entertainment that not everyone has access to. And if, through our efforts, we can positively impact even the life of just one child, it means that we have truly lived, as the poet says!
